IZZY

MoshPit Publishing, 2021

Izzy knew that some of her choices were foolish, but who could blame her for choosing love?

Set against iconic events of the 19th Century – the illegal settlement of Melbourne, the Irish Famine, the Anglo-Sikh Wars and the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London, Izzy is powerless to control her life. Until she isn’t.

About the Author

Moira McAlister has spent most of her life in the classroom as a teacher, teacher-librarian and student. It was while studying for her Masters in Writing and Literature, that Moira first found snippets of the story of her great, great grandmother, Inez Seville Fitzgerald. Realising there were huge gaps in the information available, Moira put this story aside to concentrate on the facts concerning Inez’s husband, for the narrative non-fiction work, Dr Barry Cotter, the First Doctor in Melbourne which she published in 2015. Since then, Moira has used the painstaking and fascinating research for that story as the basis for her fictional reinvention of Inez in her novel, Izzy. Moira also writes short stories and stories for children, some of which can be found on her website (moiramcalister.com).
