Ginsights with Matthew Spencer

On Thursday 2 May from 6-8 pm Big River Distilling Co and Dymocks Canberra will co-host Ginsights with guest author Matthew Spencer. Matthew published his debut novel Black River after 20 years in journalism including long stints at The Australian running the foreign desk and as Opinion Editor.
At Ginsights Matthew will share with us how his own story of living with his family on the 320-acre campus of a boys’ boarding school, spending long summers on the largely deserted property while exploring the remnant bush with its tributary of the Parramatta River, inspired him to write an award winning crime thriller. Black River was in the Dymocks Top 101 books in 2023, and our friends at Dymocks said: “Black River marks the arrival of a major new voice in Aussie crime fiction. You will both rip through this addictive mystery and not want it to end.”
All are welcome to come along to join this informal reader/writer conversation at Big River, Tenancy 3 Building 3 at 1Dairy Road Fyshwick. Use Entrance 2 off Dairy Rd and find us down near carpark P4.
We will be serving a signature cocktail for the event featuring Big River Mandarin Gin alongside our full range of Big River cocktails and soft drinks. Complementary snacks also served.
