For the April event in his monthly reading at Smith’s Alternative, Geoff Page presents an Easter special: not two but three feature poets: Cat Kidd, Natalie D-Napoleon and Jacqui Malins.

A core figure in the Montreal cabaret scene since the 90s, Cat Kidd is best known for her zoology-inspired solo shows Sea Peach and Hyena Subpoena, her acclaimed performances touring festivals from Whitehorse to Oslo, Cape Town to Singapore, earning 5-star reviews on the Canadian Fringe circuit. Awarded Reciter of the Year at the National Folk Festival in 2023, Cat is delighted to be returning to Canberra! With heart that shines light on its darkest corners, she has been called a force of Nature.

Natalie Damjanovich-Napoleon was raised on a farm by her Croatian-immigrant parents and now lives in Walyalup/Fremantle with her husband, son and rescue cat Sylvia. Her work has appeared in Meanjin, Australian Book Review, The Australian (Review) and APJ. She has won the Bruce Dawe and KSP Poetry Prizes; and has been shortlisted for the Peter Porter Poetry Prize. Her debut poetry collection First Blood was released in 2019 and her second poetry book, If There Is a Butterfly That Drinks Tears is out now via Life Before Man/Gazebo Books. She recently completed a Creative Writing PhD on erasure poetry and cultural amnesia and is now looking forward to returning to her passions of cooking, yoga and non-academic writing.

Jacqui Malins is a performance poet and artist based on Ngunawal and Ngambri country. She has created poetry shows 'Matter of Life', 'Words in Flight' and 'Cavorting with Time' and performed at events including Poetry on the Move, the Woodford Festival and the 2022 National Poetry Month Gala. Jacqui's first full poetry collection F-Words was published in 2021 (Recent Work Press), and she directed the 2023 Poetic City Festival in Canberra.

Presented with the support of That Poetry Thing.
